Open Question: How to help an adult that is emotionaaly abused by his parents?
Met a man (37 yrs old) who I believe to be the victim of emotional abuse by his parents. He made some mistakes and they are threatening to charge him with identity theft charges if he doesn’t do every little thing they tell him. He is not allowed to see his girlfriend, has to be in bed by a certain time, is not allowed to close his bedroom door except when he takes a shower and goes to sleep and is not allowed to leave his parents property. He isn’t even allowed to speak to his girlfriend. His father threatens to search his truck to see if he has any snuff,,,,,,they’ve taken that privilege away too. I don’t know where to advise him to seek help…I just know this is horrible.
