My wife came to U.S. 2 years ago and got issued her SSN last October 07. Yesterday, we just found out that her SSN got linked to 3 different SSN with a series of delinquencies from way back when. The credit file also has a different date of birth.
At this point, I know the steps to clean up this mess and currently following it by contacting the credit bureaus and social security admin. However, I’d like you to help me understand in what way it could possibly happen. I’d like to be educated, and maybe it helps someone else to understand more about this as well. How many different ways can someone use these things to commit identity theft. For example opening new lines of credit, withdrawing money from my accounts, racking up medical bills and auto accidents…any other ideas or real life-experience anyone has?
There was a rap video on Austin Music Network, about 5 years ago, where the rapper was singing about committing petty / non-violent / victimless crimes, but we was doing it in a normal rap-style demeanor - Like you would see a rapper sing about shooting, killing, etc.
The crimes mentioned in the song involved stealing receipts from peoples trash to get their identity, stealing credit cards, nabbing purses, low dollar theft, and many others. He would elobarate in his rap about how terrible is was going to be when this stuff happened to you.
To add to this, this was NOT a mainstream song at all, I only heard/saw it one time, and I laugh everytime i think about it.
A company that I used to work for, they hire felons and the clients are giving them personal information, as social and bank information and credit card information. The company is on Ripoffreport.com and they are showing that they are on their for identity theft. I was worried after I seen that. Can I go to the Colorado Inmate Locator and let these people see the people they are working with? Would I get sued or something?! Thanks guys, I just want everyone to know who they are working with before they give the information to them!!
Ok I have this friend and she get faked by all of people over the year she has had over 289 fakes on bebo,myspace & facebook. Anyways she says she doesnt care. So we dont talk about. But I looked up her name on myspace and over 10 pages came up. then i clicked on a profile and it was on public. She was faking my friend Guin. But I was in the pic with her.
And I am very mad now I dont want my pics to be all around the web.
She is not the owner of the pic so she has no right to put them on her myspace profile. This is Identity theft. I reported her but her account never got deleted.
Can I file a police report because she is using my pic and I am the owner of it she isnt she is a fake and I wont to get my pic of her profile.

My husband’s ex has a warrant out for her arrest. We have 50/50 physical and legal custody. She was convicted of identity theft and she has a warrant as she has violated almost all of her conditions of her parole. According to the paper I have for her warrant she is to spend 3 nights in jail when picked up at a min.
My question is we do not know when she will turn herself in and do not want my stepson riding in her car or being with her -can we get an emergency hearing? What should we do??
When going through our custody battle this identity theft was going on and she had been arrested once but not convicted. Of course the mediator said this did not make her a bad mom! Just wondering what we should do now?
