Credit Watchers

i lost my wallet yesterday and i had my drivers license, school id, social security number card thing (a copy) giftcards .. some money, etc. but should i report this lost? im mainly concerned because my id and my ss# was in there.. and about the whole identity theft thing. but im only 16 so its not like the person who found it can apply for a credit card of some sort .. so should i report this to the police just for record?
i know this is in the wrong category but i really didnt know where to put it
